Honeybee Swarm Removal
Have you discovered a cluster of honeybees on your property? Each spring and summer, honeybees multiply their populations by swarming, or dividing into smaller colonies, and by raising new queens. Usually this is a peaceful and beautiful process, yet sometimes they select their new site in a poor location - your home, bushes, or property! Honeybee hives within a close proximity to a residence can pose a hazard to children, to the elderly, and to individuals with compromised immune systems.
Renova Sustainable Agriculture offers honeybee swarm removals, non-invasive trap-out removals, and custom cut-out removals for residential properties across the Piedmont of Virginia. Usually, we are able to remove the swarms within a few hours, or install a trap within 1 day.
All swarms are gently removed, rehomed in our Restoration Hives, and installed around the Commonwealth, to assist in the recovery of our state pollinator population. We re-queen the swarms with our Restoration Queens, bringing back healthy genetic biodiversity. These re-queened swarms are also supplied “pro-bono” to new beekeepers who commit to treatment-free Regenerative Beekeeping.
